POSTED ON September 11, 2018 @ 12:00 am

About RSGC

The Royal Sydney Golf Club, founded in 1893, is one of Australia’s most prominent social and sporting institutions. Our staff are professional, engaged and recognised for their skill and talent. We all work together to progress the Club and to protect its traditions; we aim for excellence, to lead and support each other, and to enjoy the experience.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to Course Superintendent and Head Horticulturist you will be involved in the upkeep and development of the Landscape areas across the Clubhouse, Golf Courses and Northern Areas Sporting facilities.

Royal Sydney is surrounded by extensive native and exotic ornamental gardens as well as over 2300 trees. With more than 20 distinct garden areas surrounding the clubhouse and ongoing re-vegetation of native plantings across the property, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated horticulturist to implement and develop their skills in amenity horticulture management.

The successful applicant must have experience in the care, culture, propagation and maintenance of native and exotic trees, shrubs, ground covers and ornamental grasses. We are looking for people with strong communication skills who are open-minded, willing to learn and will successfully adapt to the challenges of the golf course environment.

What does the Club need from me?

  • Certificate III in Horticulture – Parks and Gardens (or similar is required)
  • Current spray qualification certificate ChemCert AQF3 (preferable)
  • Chainsaw certificate (preferable)
  • Arboricultural qualifications or experience (preferable)
  • Strong attention to detail, an excellent work ethic and the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team is essential.

What’s in it for me?

First and foremost you will work in a positive and supportive workplace that is set in great surrounds (against a sporting backdrop). You can expect competitive wages, access to training, regular feedback and a range of benefits including staff meals, social functions, discounted purchases (wine, sporting goods etc.), uniforms, and some access to sporting facilities (golf, tennis etc.).

If you are interested in the role and would like to join our team, please apply today.
