Cottesloe GC superintendent injured in holiday accident

The AGCSA’s The Cut newsletter reports that the WA superintendent community has been left in a state of shock this week following the news that popular Cottesloe Golf Club superintendent and GCSAWA/AGCSA member Simon Bourne (pictured) suffered a severe head and neck injury while on holiday in Bali. The following email was sent to all GCSAWA members earlier this week from Cottesloe general manager Brad White updating members on the situation. It read…
“Early on Saturday morning Simon suffered an accident whilst on holidays in Bali with family and friends. He suffered a head and neck injury and was flown by air ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital on Saturday and underwent surgery on Sunday.  The full extent of Simon’s injuries are not yet known but at this point in time he has no feeling from his mid chest down.
"We are all in a state of shock here at Cottesloe and have offered our full support to Simon and his family during this difficult time. Can I thank all of you who have already called to offer assistance and I will continue to provide further information as it comes to hand.”
The AGCSA has been in contact with Brad and has asked him to pass on the thoughts and prayers of all AGCSA members to Simon and his family – wife Marina and two young daughters – during this difficult period.  According to Brad a website is being set up for Simon and as soon as more details are forthcoming the AGCSA will carry a link on its website and in The Cut.
