Dozens object to Riverlands development proposal

MORE than 40 residents filled the public gallery at Bankstown Council’s meeting last week to object a development application to rezone land at Milperra’s Riverlands Golf Course.

While the application is for 650 homes to be built on the site, the council refused a rezoning application by the same developers in 2009 for 1200 dwellings.

All councillors approved to the council’s recommendation that the applicant submit an updated flood and traffic study.

They also decided to carry out an onsite inspection before the council decides whether to submit a planning proposal to the state planning department.
