NGF ANNOUNCES 2010 GOLF BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM

NGF ANNOUNCES 2010 GOLF BUSINESS SYMPOSIUM

The National Golf Foundation (NGF) announces its third annual Golf Business Symposium to be held April 29 at The Ritz-Carlton, Buckhead ( Atlanta , Ga. ).

The symposium is the pre-season golf market intelligence briefing reserved for the directors and officers of golf's leading companies.

The event, previously held in Dallas (Gaylord Texan Resort - 2008) and Chicago (Peninsula Hotel - 2009) is loosely modeled after the Davos World Economic Forum. The Symposium annually attracts between 70-80 leaders from many of golf's most significant companies representing every segment of the industry. Due to the increased demand, the maximum attendance will be expanded to 100 for 2010.

The 2010 event will open with a private cocktail reception and dinner on April 28th followed by the Symposium General Session the following day.

The keynote presentation will be The Future of Golf Participation in America, presented by Joe Beditz, NGF president & CEO. NGF partnered with IHS Global Insights, a world leader in economic analysis, to forecast what the future holds in terms of golfers, rounds and golf-related spending. The research study completes a trilogy with keynote presentations from past symposia: The Future of Private Golf Clubs in America and The Future of Public Golf in America.

2010 Symposium presentations and speakers:

  • State of the Industry (Joe Beditz, president & CEO, NGF)
  • Golf Facility Operations & Financial Performance Benchmarks (Joe Beditz)
  • Consumer Spending Attitudes and Behaviors (Whit Alexander, partner, McKinsey & Company)
  • Economic and Capital Markets at Home and Overseas (Chris Holling, vice president, IHS Global Insight)
  • "Whose Brand is it Anyway?" Core Golfers, Technology and Media Behavior (Greg Nathan, vice president, NGF, with participation from Nielsen Media Research)
  • Measuring the International Growth of Golf (Joe Beditz)

Symposium registration is $895 and by invitation only. All NGF Business Elite members receive one complimentary credential. Inquiries should be directed to Greg Nathan at gnathan@NGF.org and the registration contact is Donna Simelunas (561.354.1617 or dsimelunas@ngf.org). More information on the Symposium details and content including a partial list of confirmed guests is available online at www.NGF.org/symposium.
