B.F. “Bev” Dolan, a co-founder of E-Z-GO and a pioneer of the modern golf car industry, died Tuesday night in North Palm Beach, Fla. He was 90.
Dolan and his brother Billy created the industry’s oldest golf car brand after witnessing Augusta National Golf Club co-founder Bobby Jones ride around in a three-wheeled cart during the 1954 Masters Tournament.
E-Z-GO today is a unit of Textron Specialized Vehicles, a division of Rhode Island-based conglomerate Textron Inc.
Textron Specialized Vehicles, which employs more than 1,200 people in Augusta, has expanded its manufacturing operation to the former Procter & Gamble plant off Mike Padgett Highway.
