JOB: Golf Course Superintendent – Waterford Valley GC
Waterford Valley Golf is an “ 18-hole par 72, 6545 m “ – Championship Golf Course, located in Knoxfield, 30 mins from the Melbourne CBD. We are seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent, who is hands-on and hard working. The strong leader must be passionate, dedicated, capable of motivating and managing the team to present the best possible turf surfaces. Preferably with 5 years experience as a Superintendent and/or a Second in Charge at a recognised course.
Waterford has been designed with flexible layout, with multiple tee boxes, several signature holes providing a wide range of golfing challenges. The course is made up of Santa Ana couch Tees and Fairways -with G2 Bentgrass Greens, 63 bunkers and 11 lakes and wetlands.
We are seeking an individual who has :
- Extensive knowledge and experience in golf course management and operational practices
- Experience with bent grass greens, and Santa Ana couch Tees and Fairways.
- Advanced knowledge of agronomy and turf grass management
- Genuine passion, commitment and a strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability and knowledge of the use and maintenance of turf machinery, with a good understanding of machinery repair.
- Irrigation maintenance and installation experience
- Irrigation scheduling (preferably Toro Central Decoder System) and water management knowledge
- Experience in the application of chemicals and fertilizers with an accredited ACUP Chemical Licence.
- Understanding of OH&S compliance and requirements – along with First Aid
- Ability to communicate & manage effective Daily, Monthly and Annual Work programs working with the Owner on a regular basis

- Maintain records relating to course maintenance, machinery, chemical applications.
- Minimum Certificate 3, in Sportsturf Management is required.
- An Accredited ACUP Chemical License is necessary.
- The ability to interview appropriate staff and hire them
