Australasia’s leading golf industry marketing company Golf Industry Central (GIC) and Golf Managers NZ have struck a partnership where GIC will assist in the ongoing promotion for the 2016 GMA NZ Conference and the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) certified BMI educational courses being held in New Zealand.

The joint GMANZ/CMAA BMI program held in April 2016 is a week-long, multi-campus-based program, providing tangible career benchmarks by which managers can track their progress and strive for various levels of competency.

Golf Managers NZ’s President Warren Collett said the new partnership with GIC would enable Australian golf managers to see the many benefits of the renowned program.

“GIC is well respected among many clubs in New Zealand as well as in Australia”, he said.

“With this new partnership we would like to take the opportunity to spread the word of our program to Australian golf managers.

“New Zealand has a very good allegiance with Australia and GMANZ would like to share its knowledge in times when the industry is struggling.

“Last year we held the inaugural BMI program with 21 participants, which was a good number as it became a tight-knit group that was able to benefit from the network created after 40 hours of tutorials.”

Benefiting from the expertise of professors, industry experts and experienced club managers, successful candidates are provided with an internationally recognised qualification upon completion.

The NZ Golf Managers Association is a group of over 100 golf club managers employed in the industry across New Zealand. Its principal aims are to help managers with their everyday management of their club through providing forums for the exchange of views, experiences and information, and to provide assistance with study grants.

It also acts as a vehicle to represent their interests to the official national and district golf bodies.

Golf Industry Central has been providing industry news, jobs and operational advice throughout Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia since 2008 and assists in four key areas – Marketing, Operations, Recruitment and Grow the Game.

Founder Mike Orloff’s idea for Golf Industry Central stemmed from 18 years of working with two of the biggest golf course management companies in the world – American Golf Corporation and Clubcorp. There was a free-flowing ‘Intranet’ within these organisations that allowed employees to share best operational practices and resources.
