  • Outstanding Premier Golf Club Leadership Opportunity
  • Pivotal relationship and engagement role

The Royal Auckland Golf Club and The Grange Golf Club are two long established premier private golf clubs. They are located adjacent to each other and have recently amalgamated. The Club has a significant history of participation in golf at all levels, both in New Zealand and around the world via other reciprocal clubs. As a result of the recent merger of the two clubs, and working with the well- known Nicklaus Design Group, plans are well advanced for the re-development of the course into a high standard 27-hole championship golf course with supporting modern facilities.

The General Manager role is pivotal to the leadership and management of the facilities and Club membership. As GM, you will lead, inspire and implement the strategic vision for RAGGC, its members and all stakeholders.

Reporting to the Club Captain and the Committee, you will be responsible for managing all Club finances, resources, facilities and staff. You will be focused on developing and maintaining the highest standards of care for the game of golf for the Club and it members; the enjoyment and etiquette on the course and in the Club House.

You will have relevant experience working with a Board or Committee at executive level in an environment where standards of excellence, systems and relationship management are key hallmarks of success. While golf management experience is preferred, candidates with empathy for golf, and a skill set relevant to this role will be considered.

You will have proven ability to manage a range of specific stakeholder relationships which include Membership, the Greens and Golf Direction, and support staff for Club hospitality, Events, Retail, Finance and Administration. You will be aware of high standards of leading golf clubs around the world and the hospitality, sportsmanship and enjoyment which they provide.

Applications including a resume and covering letter should be sent to Rothbury Kinross, RAGCGM@rothburykinross.com. For a confidential discussion, please contact Robert Storey on +64 9 920 1130 or + 64 21 923 840.

Application closing date: March 3, 2016
