Gold Coast’s most rapidly expanding suburb is Pimpama in city’s north
PIMPAMA was once known for its farm produce but is now a bustling hive of development activity as more people choose to make the suburb their home.
With impressive infrastructure taking off and a new school being built in the neighbouring suburb of Coomera, Pimpama is expected to continue to grow.
The Gainsborough Greens community will comprise, when complete, 2200 homes across a series of interconnected villages and parklands.
The Gainsborough Greens Golf Course is set to be transformed over the next few years with a new club house. The proposed new club house, retail and recreational facilities will connect the Gainsborough Greens community.
Gainsborough Greens golf operations manager Anthony Newey says with increased growth the club should see a huge influx.
“The golf course has been operating for 27 years and has hosted the Queensland Open over the course of its life,” Anthony says.
“It attracts members from Brisbane and the Coast because of its central spot close to the M1. “Facilities are actually being built around the club and it’s an attraction for development.”
The 18-hole golf course is a landmark in the suburb and sees a mix of retirees and youth walking across its greens. “Golf is definitely one of the key lifestyles of Pimpama residents,” he says. “There’s just as many young people as there are retirees these days, the kids have taken up a great interest in the game.”
