Following the recent announcement that the 2016 QLD PGA Trainee Championship will move to Indooroopilly Golf Club, the QLD/NT Division of the PGA of Australia has also secured a new naming right sponsor for the tournament; Tony Hollands Funerals.

To be played from 12th – 14th September, the QLD PGA Trainee Championship is the pinnacle event on the QLD Trainee calendar and Tony Hollands Funerals commitment to the event for the next three years, will see the tournament remain as the top event for PGA Trainees in the Sunshine State.

Broc Greenhalgh, State Manager for the QLD/NT Division of the PGA, is delighted about the future of the tournament and partnership with Tony Hollands Funerals.

“PGA Trainees are the future of the PGA and indeed the golf industry, and therefore to align the tournament with such a prominent business identity like Tony Hollands will assist in ensuring PGA Trainees reach their career potential,” said Greenhalgh.

“With recent winners of the event including Deyen Lawson, Taylor Cooper and Indooroopilly’s own Paul Hayden, we are confident that with the support of Tony Holland, together with Coca-Cola Amatil, Titleist, Footjoy and Indooroopilly Golf Club, the tournament will continue to breed the future stars of our game.”

For Tony Holland, sponsoring the QLD PGA Trainee Championship is an extension of his support to PGA Trainees over recent years.

“We have really enjoyed our relationship with the PGA Trainees over the past few years and are really excited about increasing our involvement with the PGA,” said Mr Holland.

“In our industry it is about supporting individuals during challenging times and therefore we hope that our investment into the PGA Trainees will offer a different type of support and provide greater benefits.”

In a unique concept, the four round tournament will be played over four different layouts with the 36-hole facility of Indooroopilly Golf Club providing the ability to showcase the versatility of one of Brisbane’s leading golf facilities.

The Presidents, Captains, River and West Course layouts will be played over all four rounds of the tournament and with $35,000 in prizemoney on offer, it will no doubt increase the desire to be crowned state champion.
