Beverley Park Golf Course opens to big fanfare
The new look Beverley Park Golf Course was launched in style over the weekend with fireworks marking the first tee off from the fairway.
Hundreds of past and present members took part in the event which also showed off the new water channel on the course.
There was also a long list of dignitaries including Member for Cook Scott Morrison, Member for Barton Linda Burney, Member for Oatley Mark Coure and Georges River Council General Manager Gail Connolly.
The event also celebrated the 75th anniversary of the club with a plaque unveiled by long time members Bruce and Judy Apitz along with Club President Frank Bates and Captain Warren Emmerick.
A second plaque was unveiled to mark the opening of the new water channel which will help mitigate flooding in the area.
Other projects on the horizon for the course include a perimeter fence and an increase in storm and recycled water storage.
