Wangaratta Golf Course plan closer
A PLAN to rezone the Wangaratta Golf Course that will set up for a 59-lot subdivision and housing estate is expected to go out for public consultation by the end of this month.
Rural City of Wangaratta administrators in June approved of plans to rezone 7.98 hectares of land to Residential Zone to allow for a subdivision and sale of the land.
Establishment of a housing estate will come from the 59-lot subdivision and the golf course itself will be reconfigured to include a new purpose-built clubhouse next to the estate and the new course entrance off Yarrawonga Road.
Council director of development services Barry Green said there had been some hold ups with the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) requesting more information on the plans.
“The information was based around technical details, clarity around the staging of the development, and grammatical errors,” Mr Green said.
“Once the documents have been approved by DELWP, they will then be sent to the State Government Planning Minister to be Gazetted, then they will go out for public consultation for no less than 28 days.”
