Andrew Tharle elected Chairman of Golf NSW
Golf NSW has appointed Andrew Tharle as the organisations new Chairman, replacing John Robinson.
Tharle has previously served as a Director and Vice-Captain of Royal Canberra Golf Club, and has been involved in the sport as a player, administrator, and junior mentor for over 25 years.
Since 2013 Tharle has served as a Director of Golf NSW, chairing the Golf NSW Finance Committee for the past two years, and has been instrumental in strengthening the financial governance of the organisation during this time.
“I am looking forward to working with the committed staff of Golf NSW to fulfil the objectives of the organisation’s business plan, and to continue to grow the game of golf across our State,” Mr Tharle said.
One of the goals of the incoming board of Golf NSW will be the appointment of a new advisory committee to help promote, market and develop the sport in the State as well as provide advice on future priorities for the organisation.
“A key initiative of the incoming board will be the appointment of the new advisory committee, whose role will be to provide feedback to the board on the direction of, and general development of the game across the State,” he said.
