About RSGC
The Royal Sydney Golf Club, founded in 1893, is one of Australia’s most prominent social and sporting institutions. Our staff are professional, engaged and recognised for their skill and talent. We all work together to progress the Club and to protect its traditions; we aim for excellence, to lead and support each other, and to enjoy the experience.
What will I be doing?
Royal Sydney is surrounded by extensive native and exotic ornamental gardens as well as over 2300 trees. With more than 20 distinct garden areas surrounding the clubhouse and ongoing re-vegetation of native plantings across the property, this role offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated horticulturist to implement and develop their skills in amenity horticulture management.
Reporting to Course Superintendent and the Assistant Course Superintendent you will be responsible for the upkeep and development of all Landscape areas across the Clubhouse, golf courses and Sporting facilities.
The successful applicant will need to have proven experience in the care, culture, propagation and maintenance of native and exotic trees, shrubs, ground covers and ornamental grasses.
You will be supervising the maintenance, renovation and construction of garden areas including hedging, weed management, integrated pest management, planting, mulching, fertilising and water management.
The ability to effectively manage and assist in the development of a team of horticulturists and arborists whilst monitoring work practices to ensure compliance with relevant work health and safety requirements will be essential.
Liaising with club management, council and member stakeholders, assisting with budgets, controlling expenditure and providing written reports are all important elements of this role.
