SEEKING: General Manager – Club Mandalay

Avid Sports is seeking the services of an innovative, passionate and motivated General Manager to manage Club Mandalay.

Club Mandalay opened in July 2015 and is the jewel in the crown of the flourishing Mandalay Residential Estate located at Beveridge Victoria, just 45 minutes North of the CBD.

The 18 hole Thomson Perrett design golf course is complimented by a state of the art Clubhouse that includes a range of hospitality offerings such as bar, restaurant, café, small function room and a takeaway operation. The Clubhouse also has a Golf Shop as well as Residents only leisure facilities that include a gym, pool and tennis courts.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Have at least 5 years in a General Manager or Assistant Manager position in a similar facility.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written and be professionally presented.
Be passionate about delivering excellence in facility presentation and customer service.
Have a thorough understanding of the golf industry particularly around pay for play and membership.
Strong hospitality skills to maximise the business opportunities available to the hospitality facilities while delivering an inviting environment to our broad market base.
Oversee the sales and marketing of the facility to ensure the Club Mandalay brand continues to grow and drive revenue into golf, membership and hospitality.
Be proficient in understanding profit and loss statements to ensure that informed decisions can be made on maximising operating performance.
Be a team player that leads from the front and will build a culture that fosters team work, focussed objectives, success and an enjoyable work environment.
Be diligent about managing good corporate governance across the business including areas such as, but not limited to compliance, statutory obligations, reporting and O,H&S obligations .
An understanding of Victorian Owners Corporation guidelines and obligations are desirable.

The General Manager leads a team of circa 30 FTEs across hospitality, golf, leisure, membership, course and administration, to ensure that all aspects of the Club Mandalay are functioning optimally and in accordance with the strategic and operating plans. This is a hands-on, and highly visible role, that creates a welcoming and vibrant environment for residents, members and guests.

The General Manager reports to the Managing Director of Avid Sports and works closely with key stakeholders such as the Mandalay developer, Owners Corporations and resident groups.
