Northern Territory PGA Championship website and social media platforms launched
Tournament host, Cazalys of Palmerston, have announced the launch of the Northern Territory PGA Championship’s official website, as the Top End prepares to welcome an exciting field for ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia event from 31 August to 3 September.
The website: www.ntpga.com.au includes a number of features that showcase the ‘Championship of the Top End’, which had its inaugural staging last year at the Palmerston Golf Course.
Site information for spectators and guests include tournament details and live leaderboard links during the Championship week, regular news blogs, course and tournament images, Sponsor, Spectator and Volunteer information and integration with the tournament’s existing Facebook and Instagram social media platforms.
The collaboration of many participating partners, headed by Cazalys of Palmerston, the NT Government (Invest NT), the City of Palmerston and the PGA of Australia, resulted in an exciting Championship being staged in 2016 – won by NSW’s Jordan Zunic – the first-ever ISPA HANDA PGA Tour of Australasian event played in the Northern Territory.
With little more than a month before the 2017 Championship, the field for the tournament is already taking on an extremely healthy appearance headed by 2017 Victorian Open and WA PGA champion Dimitrios Papadatos, former PGA TOUR winner Nathan Green and 2016 Australian Open runner-up Ashley Hall, who earned an invitation to The Open Championship currently being played at Royal Birkdale courtesy of that result.
A number of Asian Tour invitees are expected to join a very talented cast of Australian Tour players including the Territory’s own Anthony Quayle, who will make a long-awaited return home for his debut appearance in the Championship at Palmerston.
The Gove product left the NT at age 15 to attend school in Queensland but will return to showcase his skills in front of family and local supporters as part of a fine rookie season on the ISPA HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia.
The $150,000 2017 NT PGA Championship at Palmerston will attract Official World Golf Ranking points and provide the champion with a full exemption on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia until the end of the 2018 season.
