Man critical after Broadford Golf Club stabbing
A MAN is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a stabbing at a golf club in central Victoria
Victoria Police spokeswoman Creina O’Grady said police were called to the Broadford Golf Club in Horwood Rd.
“Police have been told the victim, a 33-year-old Broadford man, was involved in an altercation with two other men on a golf course just before 5pm,” she said.
“As a result the victim sustained a serious stab wound to his upper thigh and was flown to a Melbourne hospital.”
A 31-year-old Clonbinane man was arrested at the scene and has been admitted to hospital for observation.
Investigators believe that all three men are known to each other.
The victim is understood to have received a cut to a major artery in his thigh.
Ambulance Victoria said the injured man, aged in his 30s, initially received treatment on the course before he was flown to the Alfred hospital for further medical attention.
Meanwhile, mystery surrounds a second stabbing when a man turned up at a Melton West medical centre with stab wounds to his upper body about 4pm.
He was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition.
“We don’t have any more details as he’s not co-operating with police,” Ms O’Grady said.
The injured man was aged in his 40s.
