SEEKING: General Manager – Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club
An outstanding opportunity has arisen at Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club (Boulcott’s Farm) for a progressive individual with strong business development and sport management skills to fill the role of the club’s next General Manager.
Over the last five years, Boulcott’s Farm has undergone a major transformation with the redevelopment of the 18-hole and six-hole golf courses and the introduction of new coaching and training facilities. In addition to this a new, purpose-built clubhouse will be opening in early 2018. The Board is looking for the right person to continue the progress made to date and plan for the future.
The role: This is a full time position based in Lower Hutt, Wellington. The position reports to the Chair of the Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- The day to day management of the operations of Boulcott’s Farm
- Strategically planning for the future direction
- Identifying new revenue opportunities
- Reporting and compliance management
- Staff management
- Membership retention and growth
- Community engagement
- Introducing new and improved services including development of the new clubhouse food, beverage and hospitality offerings and a revamp of the clubhouse retail services
- Working with the various Business Unit leaders to ensure the success of Boulcott’s Farm
The ideal applicant: The skills required for the role include:
- An understanding of, or experience in, sports management
- Experience in managing the operational requirements of a business
- A track record in generating new revenue for a business
- An understanding of hospitality and the not-for-profit sector
- Proven ability in developing teams to achieve strategic goals
