Golf Business Forum 2020 unveils its first four speakers to provide a taste of what’s to come

POSTED ON November 21, 2019 @ 9:11 am

Working together with Event Partner, Australian Sports Turf Managers Association and Foundation Partner, Golf Australia, the Forum has just announced its initial line-up of speakers for the 2020 event in Melbourne. The impressive line-up includes newly appointed Commissioner (and former CEO) of the National Basketball League, Jeremy Loeliger, Karen Fitzgerald (Global Manager, Experiences, Tourism Australia), Carla Armanet (Director, Sport and Recreation, Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands) and Jay Karen (CEO, National Golf Course Owners Association USA).

“We’re thrilled to finally reveal Jeremy, Karen, Carla and Jay”, noted the Forum’s Director, Guy Chapple. “In May we obtained some valuable feedback from the golf business community via our inaugural content survey and the data was pretty clear. Top of mind for most contributors were four key themes: Customer, Marketing, Leadership and Industry Trends & Insights (including driving golf participation). These insights will very much drive the content for our 2020 Forum and our first speaker announcement is testament to that. Whilst the announcement only forms a small part of our broader speaker line-up, it gives our audience a taste of what’s to come, with our final line-up to be released in early February 2020.”

After conducting one of the opening keynote presentations at the inaugural Forum in 2016, this will be Jay Karen’s second time being involved in the event. “I loved my first visit to Melbourne in 2016, it’s such a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. I attended my first AFL match and adopted the Hawthorn Hawks as my favourite team. I’m really looking forward to coming back Downunder to engage with the Australian golf industry and update it on the current key issues we’re experiencing in the U.S. golf market” commented Jay.

“Jay was a huge hit in 2016 and we’re delighted he’s coming back to inform us on the latest insights and trends from the world’s biggest golf market.” concluded Guy.

Over 400 delegates from all segments of the golf industry are expected to attend Golf Business Forum 2020, to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 23-24 June 2020.
