About

The City Golf Club is the largest club and golf facility on the Darling Downs with circa 1000 golf members and over 80,000 social members.  Our 18 Hole Championship Course was home to the QLD PGA Championships from 2009 to 2020 and we currently produce close to 60,000 rounds per annum.  In addition we have an 18-bay undercover and fully lit practice range and 18-hole mini-golf with a fully licensed Café and a 46-room 4.5-star motel.

Toowoomba is home to a population of over 120,000 people, making us one of the largest Regional City’s in QLD.  Housing and cost of living is easily affordable, and as we are located just a One and a half drive west of Brisbane, beaches and the “Big Smoke” are all easy day trips to enjoy on your RDO’s.

Positions Available

The City Golf Club is soon to enhance its Slice Café, Mini Golf and Practise Range Facility with the installation of a Top Tracer Range, and as such we are in the need of Casual Golf Services and Café Attendants to work various hours throughout the week, including weekend and evening work.  We are a family-orientated entertainment venue that strives to ensure customers have fun. The role is multi-faceted in that you may be working on the range assisting customers with Top Tracer service, assisting in the café with food and beverage or greeting and serving customers for mini-golf.

The successful applicant will be able to provide exceptional customer service and preferably have previous golf industry experience, although not essential as full training is provided. It is also desirable that the successful applicant has previous Barista and/or food preparation experience although again not essential as full training is provided.  They will help the team undertake a variety of tasks to ensure effective daily operations of the entertainment and cafe venue.  This is a Casual position with the applicant to expect a consistent roster of 25-30 hours per week, with an option of permanent part-time following a probationary period.

Duties

  • Processing guest/member check-ins,  bookings and Point of Sale
  • Ensures all range rules and procedures are enforced
  • Making coffees, drinks and short-order style food menu.
  • Administration and maintenance of the hire equipment including clubs, range balls, putters etc.
  • Carrying out and signing off daily opening and closing procedures;
  • Responsible for cleanliness and appearance of the venue at all times.
  • Prepare and set up for kids parties and corporate/group functions.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant must possess the following:

  • A team player with previous experience working in a hospitality or golf facility desirable.
  • Sensational Customer Service with exceptional attention to detail;
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and phone manner.
  • Reliable, Punctual and impeccable grooming that would be expected in a corporate setting is essential;
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts on different days and times, including weekends and public holidays
  • Positive outgoing attitude ready to do what it takes to get the job done;
  • Computer literate;

The staff of City Golf Club are paid under an “Enterprise Agreement” which provides benefits above the Award.
