Sky Sport NZ picks up European Tour rights
Sky Sport has picked up the exclusive media rights in New Zealand to golf’s European Tour.
The pay-TV broadcaster will show action from the circuit for the next five years as well as covering the Asian Tour, golf’s premier Asian property, which is currently in negotiations over a possible merger with its European counterpart.
Sky replaces Coliseum as the European Tour’s broadcast partner. Coliseum previously aired coverage of the tour on its subscription offering but has now elected to focus its golf programming on North America’s PGA Tour and LPGA Tour.
Sky’s European Tour coverage begins with this week’s Qatar Masters, while its first Asian Tour event is the ongoing Singapore Open.
