The redevelopment of Collier Park Golf Course is set to move forward after the City of South Perth council endorsed agreements between the city and its new operators.

The city owns the course and has agreed to lease it for 21 years to Clublinks Management Pty Ltd.

Formal agreements for the deal were approved without debate at the March council meeting.

It paves the way for Clublinks to begin preparations of a detailed design, advertise for construction tenders, and submit a development application to the WA Planning Commission, which will make the final call.

The $19.8 million redevelopment will update the facilities surrounding the 27-hole golf course and 18-hole mini-golf course.

This includes a new restaurant/cafe, an entertainment-based double-storey driving range with new technology, a function space, padel tennis courts, a retail shop and office space, an all-abilities playground and more commercial/community space.

Construction is expected to start in late 2025, dependent on the results of the construction tender process.

No changes are planned to the golf course, which will remain open during construction.

“While golf will remain our priority, we’re planning to extend our facilities to benefit more of our community,” the Collier Park Golf site says.

“That way, we become a true community hub where quality golf meets leisure, recreation and connection.”

Mayor Greg Milner said the agreement paved the way for the community and golf lovers from across Perth to benefit from an enhanced and contemporary recreation and golfing experience.

“This latest approval is part of a multi-step process that will ensure we can create an exceptional venue for everyone to enjoy, while carefully balancing the need to protect and celebrate the beautiful natural environment,” he said.
