MiWallet: A Smarter Way to Manage Digital Membership Cards

MiClub’s new MiWallet digital membership card provides golf clubs with a convenient alternative to traditional plastic cards, offering live membership information, simplified administration and integration with member accounts.

Traditional plastic membership cards have long been used by golf clubs to identify members, access facilities and apply member benefits. MiClub’s new MiWallet provides a digital alternative, allowing members to carry their membership card directly on their smartphone through Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Integrated with MiMembership, MiWallet provides clubs with a practical way to issue, manage and update membership cards without relying on physical card production and distribution.

Digital Membership Cards with Added Security Features

MiWallet includes device-specific security measures designed to provide additional control over digital membership cards.

Google Wallet supports single-device registration and screenshot restrictions, while Apple Wallet includes controls to limit card sharing.

These features help manage how digital cards are stored and distributed, although clubs should continue to apply their normal member identification procedures when providing access to membership benefits and account facilities.

A Live Card That Reflects Membership Status

Unlike traditional plastic cards, MiWallet is connected directly to the club’s MiMembership database, allowing membership information to remain current.

Changes to a member’s financial status are automatically reflected on their digital card. If a member becomes unfinancial, barcode access can be removed until their membership is brought up to date.

Cards can also be remotely re-synchronised, allowing clubs to update membership details without issuing replacement cards.

Improving Member Spending and Account Accuracy

Accurate member identification is important for clubs offering member pricing, house accounts, prepaid balances and other benefits through integrated point-of-sale systems.

When used with a compatible POS system, MiWallet provides a convenient way to identify members and link purchases to their membership records.

This helps staff allocate transactions to the appropriate member accounts, supporting accurate spending histories, account balances and financial reporting.

For members, MiWallet removes the need to carry a separate plastic membership card, with their digital card readily available through their smartphone’s wallet.
