Keperra Country Golf Club Celebrates Reopening of Holes 7 and 8 Following Years of Setbacks

POSTED ON February 18, 2026 @ 10:25 am

After a multi-year battle against natural disasters, construction delays, and technical setbacks, Keperra Country Golf Club has officially announced the reopening of its 7th and 8th holes.

The project, which survived several floods, a cyclone, and multiple restarts, represents a significant milestone in the club’s recovery. To mark the occasion, a special celebratory opening was held where Club Captain Greg Marshall was joined by club member and two-time PGA TOUR winner John Senden, who struck a ceremonial shot onto the newly finished greens.

A Journey of Resilience

The reconstruction was a lengthy process aimed at restoring the course to its full configuration. Earlier on the opening day, the club’s Greens team completed final preparations before cutting the very first hole on the newly finished surfaces.

The club extended its sincere gratitude to the Membership for their “ongoing support and patience throughout this significant project.” The reconstruction was made possible through instrumental funding assistance from:

  • The Gambling Community Benefit Fund
  • The Queensland Government’s Community Recreational Assets Recovery and Resilience Program

“After enduring several floods, a cyclone, multiple delays and restarts — and a lengthy rebuild overall — the Club is proud to officially open the 7th & 8th hole to the Membership tomorrow,” the club stated in an official announcement.

The 8th hole, in particular, has undergone a major redesign aimed at future resilience, including the replacement of the retaining wall along Kedron Brook and the removal of certain greenside bunkers to reduce damage during future weather events.
