Australian Golf Services Appoints Sellenger as Chief Commercial Officer
Golf Australia has announced the appointment of sports executive Ben Sellenger as the Chief Commercial Officer of Australian Golf Services. In this role, Sellenger will work across both Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia.
Strategic Growth Agenda
Sellenger will lead the commercial growth agenda across Australian Golf Services. His mandate focuses on key area developments, including strategic partnerships, revenue expansion, and the creation of increased value for Australian golf and its commercial stakeholders.
Decades of Industry Experience
Sellenger brings over 20 years of senior leadership experience across sports, communications agencies, governing bodies, and rights holders. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of thoroughbred racing operation Ciaron Maher Racing.
A corporate lawyer by background, Sellenger formerly worked at Clayton Utz before transitioning into sports administration. His career in sports executive leadership includes previous roles as CEO of the PGA Tour of Australasia, inaugural CEO of the pan-Asian tour OneAsia, and CEO of communications agency Bastion Collective. Additionally, he served as Head of Commercial Growth at the Australian Football League (AFL), driving both traditional and emerging revenue streams.
Dual-Body Operational Focus
Australian Golf Services functions as a joint initiative designed to align commercial operations across Golf Australia and the PGA of Australia. Sellenger’s appointment marks a return to golf administration, leveraging his background in sports governance and commercial development to advance the sport’s national agenda.
