POPULAR Toowoomba venue City Golf Club took out two prestigious Keno and Clubs Queensland Awards for Excellence last night.

More than 1100 guests from across the state attended the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre to see the club win trophies for Best Club Diversification and Best Club Darling Downs and South-West Queensland.

Clubs Queensland CEO Doug Flockhart congratulated the Toowoomba venue.

“The expansion of operations we have seen at City Golf Club has been amazing,” he said.

“With new revenue streams, the club shows a clear commitment to their own financial sustainability through a planned approach towards diversification.”

Mr Flockhart said it was no surprise to see City Golf Club take out the award for best club in the region.

“On reviewing the club’s plans for future upgrades and new facilities, the club looks like it will be offering even more to patrons and their local community in the not-so-distant future,” he said.
