Drummond extends Golf Australia partnership

POSTED ON May 30, 2017 @ 5:52 pm

Drummond Golf has extended its long-term association with Golf Australia.

The nation’s premier golf retailer for more than 40 years, Drummond Golf has inked a multi-year expansion of its previous deal, with the option for an additional extension.

Drummond has become the first existing partner to upgrade its association with Golf Australia since the sport’s governing body reacquired the rights to the nation’s handicapping system in a deal with GOLF Link.

In the first eight weeks of the GOLF Link integration, more than 260,000 individual golf handicaps were queried and 5.8 million page impressions generated.

The change has, according to Nielsen Data, made the website the fifth most visited site of any sporting body in the country, behind only those of the AFL, NRL, Cricket Australia and V8 Supercars.

Golf Australia’s digital platform www.golf.org.au – home also for golf news from around the globe, club scores and course information – now provides an unprecedented opportunity to connect with golfers across Australia.

It will provide Drummond Golf the opportunity to amplify its marketing message to the golf participant on a daily basis.

GA commercial director Kent Boorman said the developments were exciting for golf’s future and was thrilled their benefits could be used by “such an amazing long-term partner”.

“We are incredibly excited to extend our partnership with Drummond Golf. They have been a long-time supporter of golf in the country and we look forward to working even closer with them towards the common goal of growing participation in the game,” Boorman said.

“Our increased ability to connect our partners with the golf participant on a daily basis is very compelling and it seems to be resonating in the market place.”

Drummond Golf chief executive Jamie Cooke was excited by the enhanced ties between the bodies.

“At Drummond Golf we have always felt an obligation to contribute wherever we can in growing the game of golf and our long-term partnership with Golf Australia is the cornerstone of that philosophy,” Cooke said.

“The energy and enthusiasm we see in the team at Golf Australia gives us great confidence in the future of the sport in this country. We consider it a privilege to be a partner of Golf Australia.”
