Greg Norman wants to design a Far North Qld course
That’s the real reason for his visit by company private jet to the region last weekend.
The US-based entrepreneur was a guest of KUR-World to inspect Macau developer Ken Lee’s $650 million eco-resort vision at Myola. The proposal includes an 18-hole golf course.
KUR-World business development strategist Alex Blake said that six weeks ago Greg Norman’s company made contact about future partnership opportunities involving the development of the golf course and asked to inspect the site.
He said Mr Norman and his team spent four hours at the Barnwell Rd property before further talks over dinner at Cafe China in Cairns.
“This was our first meeting, so we are still in early stages,” Mr Blake said.
“We are assessing the potential to have them involved in course design, as well as ongoing golf course management services, after they recently moved into this area,” he said.
Mr Blake said it was not intended or expected Mr Norman would invest in the project, only the design and management of the course.
