Voyager Golf Travel/International Pairs World Amateur Golf Tournament

  • Salary range $60,000– $70,000 plus super
  • OTE bonuses/ salary increase if KPIs are met ($100k +)

Who we are

Voyager Golf Travel (VGT) is an Australian based boutique Golf travel company, providing golfing and non-golfing travel packages, which offer all-inclusive itineraries to destinations in Australia and throughout the world.

VGT is the Licensee for both Australia and New Zealand for International Pairs, the World’s largest amateur pairs golf Tournament. In its 24th year, it is a worldwide golf Tournament for amateur club golfers with a recognised golf handicap.

We are now looking for someone who loves golf and travel as much as we do to help grow this event for us and to continue to diversify our product offering across Australia and New Zealand.

The Role

While VGT is the employer, your main focus and role will be International Pairs.

We are seeking a candidate who has experience in the golf and travel industry with events/promotional skills. They must have a strong understanding of business development and how to grow markets and relationships quickly and sustainably.

This autonomous role requires a great work ethic and would suit a high-spirited individual with a small business owner mentality who is eager to promote and deliver the qualifying events to our valued customers around Australia, with the opportunity to expand into New Zealand

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the International Pairs event in Australia
  • Creating memorable golf experiences for existing and new clients
  • Quoting and itinerary creation
  • Running local qualify events
  • Stakeholder relationship management
  • Generating unique ideas to create new business
  • Setting and working to sales targets set by you and the team

The successful candidate will have to be available for some weekend work as well domestic/international travel.

Desired skills and experience

The successful candidate will have strong customer service and communication skills along with highly developed interpersonal and relationships building skills together with the ability to be self-motivated.

Ideally, you will have worked in a similar role and have strong connections in the golf industry at senior level.

Favourable, but not essential attributes:

  • You are in the Brisbane/Gold Coast /Sunshine Coast area (Melbourne or Sydney possible)
  • You are experienced in the golf or travel industry
  • You have attention to detail and are well organised
  • You have strong knowledge of golf tournament event set up
  • You have experience setting up tours (golfer & non golfer)
  • You must have availability to travel domestically and internationally
  • You must have proven success in securing sponsorship agreements
  • A business owner mentality and availability to work as the business requires.

Applicants must have:

  • Business development experience (5 years +)
  • Build and maintain Relationships (B2B & B2C)
  • Event & promotional experience
  • Experience in using CRM and ERP systems and other technology/apps
  • Strong Communication and reporting skills
  • An understanding of sponsor engagement, seeking new sponsors and retaining sponsorship.

A remuneration package will be negotiated that reflects the qualifications, capabilities and performance of the successful applicant. As the event grows in stature in Australia, the role will see a dramatic increase in remuneration. All travel costs are covered by VGT.
