JOB: Operations Manager – Ballarat Golf Club

About

Ballarat Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Club, ensuring an exceptional experience for members and guests across golf, hospitality and clubhouse services.

Reporting to the General Manager, this senior leadership role works closely with the Course Superintendent and PGA Professional to align course presentation, golf operations and member services with the Club’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Club across golf, hospitality and clubhouse services
  • Lead, supervise and develop staff to deliver high standards of service and operational performance
  • Oversee golf operations including MiClub systems, competitions, tournaments, member inductions and communications
  • Work closely with the Course Superintendent and PGA Professional to align course presentation, coaching programs and member engagement
  • Ensure an outstanding member and guest experience across all areas of the Club
  • Manage clubhouse operations including IT systems, compliance, insurance and hospitality support
  • Lead workplace health and safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Assist with budgeting, financial reporting, asset management and operational analysis
  • Support marketing and communications including website updates, social media and e-newsletters

About You

  • Proven experience in a management role within a golf club, sports club, hospitality venue or similar member-based organisation
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day operations across multiple departments
  • Proven leadership experience, including staff supervision, performance management and team development
  • Strong understanding of customer service delivery in a club or hospitality environment
  • Experience managing golf or sporting operations, competitions and member services (MiClub experience highly regarded)
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including course, golf and hospitality teams
