Junior golf in Australia is set for another growth spurt as Ripper GC, captained by major winner Cam Smith, joins forces with Golf Australia’s MyGolf program.

The new partnership sees Ripper GC step in as principal partner of the national junior initiative, which introduces kids aged 5 to 12 to the game through fun, game-based sessions run by PGA Professionals. As part of the collaboration, MyGolf will now be known as MyGolf powered by Ripper GC, with participants affectionately dubbed “Little Rippers.”

More than 40,000 children took part in MyGolf programs over the past year, a record high, with nearly 500 venues around the country offering access. The partnership aims to build on this momentum, bringing golf to even more young Australians.

“Cam Smith, Marc Leishman, Lucas Herbert and Matt Jones are all passionate about junior golf,” said Golf Australia CEO James Sutherland. “Their support will help inspire the next wave of Aussie talent.”

Smith said Ripper GC is proud to back the program: “The goal is simple—get more kids playing golf. It’s great to be part of something that’s growing the game.”

Participation is also booming in schools, with over 107,000 students engaged in MyGolf Schools programs—a 37% jump from last year. And with nearly half of participants in Tasmania being girls, the future of Australian golf looks bright and inclusive.
