Karana Downs Golf Club sold to Kooralbyn Resort owners
Karana Downs Golf Club has been sold to the owners of Ramada Resort Kooralbyn Valley on the Gold Coast.
Karana owner and operator Brett Lawton, who also owns Sandy Gallop Golf Club in Ipswich, made the announcement on the club’s Facebook page, citing a loss of interest in the course being sole reason for the trade.
“I will take some time out with my family and then focus on Sandy Gallop,” Lawson stated on Facebook. “Peter and his wife Diane have the golf clubs best interest at heart and their primary focus will be the golf club and engaging the community to use the clubhouse facilities.”
“I thank you for your support and I hope the community continues to support Karana Downs Golf Club as you have supported my team.”
According to Lawson all staff will remain and a reciprocal arrangement will remain in place between both clubs and members can continue to use both clubs facilities and all memberships and vouchers will be honoured.
The settlement date is set to 31 August.
