Laguna Raises the Bar for 19th Holes in Vietnam
Visitors to Laguna Golf Lang Co, one of Vietnam’s top courses, now have even more call to toast a life well led following the launch of 67, the nation’s plushest clubhouse bar.
The 19th hole has traditionally been a refuge away from the course, a place from which to celebrate the good and bemoan the bad over a few libations.
And at the freshly-minted bar at the multi-award winning club in central Vietnam, such post-mortems can be conducted in the most spectacular of surrounds.
Premium drinks, luxurious lounge chairs, a pro-standard pool table and grandstand views of the spectacular closing holes on the Nick Faldo-designed championship layout are just a few of the perks awaiting golfers and their guests at the sleek watering hole.
Banks of windows let natural light stream into the venue while offering patrons an expansive outlook upon the golf course and the jungle-clad mountains that surround it. The bar also overlooks an exciting new addition to the set-up at Laguna Golf Lang Co: a new 3,500sqm putting course that is the biggest of its kind in Vietnam.
An extensive selection of quality booze – including selections from acclaimed Ho Chi Minh City craft brewer Heart of Darkness – heightens the levity.
Other highlights, meanwhile, include creative bar snacks and light meals and an outdoor terrace perfect for the balmy tropical evenings.
“We wanted to create a space that elevated the entire golfing experience here even further and I think we have succeeded,” said Adam Calver, Director of Golf at Laguna Golf Lang Co.
“The 19th hole is an important element at any club and we’ve gone the extra mile to ensure ours is a place that anyone — from golfers to visiting guests — would want to linger in.
Another Great 19th Hole to Savour in Vietnam
With elevation changes of up to 50metres on the course itself, there are no shortage of incredible views at The Bluffs Ho Tram Strip. Arguably though, the most enjoyable vantage point of them all can be found at Infinity: the club’s sleek, but cosy clubhouse bar/restaurant. Overlooking the course’s outstanding closing hole – a monster that snakes uphill to a raised green – the venue offers the perfect perch from which to reflect on a round. Decked out in contemporary style, the restaurant is a stylish place for a bite. The menu covers a lot of bases, encompassing everything from snacks to full meals across a culinary spectrum that takes in Vietnamese, Korean, Japanese, western and more. Menu highlights include the goi cuon (fresh spring rolls) with shrimp and hearty creations such as beef medallions in a pepper sauce. While the ballast is flawless, the highlight for many golfers are drinks at the venue’s outdoor terrace, which offers views of the 1st tee and the 18th green. Equipped with luxuriously upholstered chairs and sofas, the “deck” has long been the chosen spot for a relaxed post mortem of a round accompanied by fine spirits, wines or beers from the extensive drinks list. It’s the ideal spot to end a memorable day out at one of Vietnam’s finest golfing tests.
