POSTED ON June 3, 2026 @ 8:32 am

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA – The Metropolitan Golf Club, located on the Melbourne Sandbelt, has officially announced the appointment of Dayle Marshall as its new General Manager. Marshall, a highly respected sports executive with a deep history in golf administration, will officially step into the role on Friday, 26 June.

She transitions into the top executive role after serving as the club’s Head of Member Services since April 2017.

The Metropolitan Golf Club holds an impeccable tournament pedigree, having hosted seven Men’s Australian Opens, a Women’s Australian Open, seven PGA of Australia Championships, the WGC Accenture Matchplay, and the World Cup of Golf.

A Proven Leader with Deep Roots at ‘Metro’

During her nine years as Head of Member Services, Marshall managed the private club’s extensive membership portfolio of over 1,350 members, along with internal and external communications, corporate governance, and clubhouse operations. Her tenure included close collaboration and mentorship under prominent Australian golf management figures Peter Paccagnan, Michael Burgess, and Jon Gahan.

“I am absolutely delighted to accept the role of General Manager at The Metropolitan Golf Club,” Marshall said. “Metropolitan’s tournament history is impeccable, but it’s the people, the members, management, and staff, who truly define it.”

“Arguably the most hospitable club in the land, ‘Metro’ is as warm and welcoming as it is iconic. 125 years of rich history, a proud and engaged membership, a wonderfully professional team of staff, and a newly enhanced world-class golf course make for the most fabulous opportunity an incoming GM could wish for!”

Marshall acknowledged the significance of succeeding such well-regarded industry leaders while expressing immense gratitude for the opportunity to lead the club into its next chapter.

“In my 9+ years at Metropolitan thus far, I’ve been privileged to be mentored and guided by Peter Paccagnan, Michael Burgess, and Jon Gahan, three icons in Australian golf management… extremely big boots to fill… no pressure!!! And to work with such wonderful colleagues every day has been, and will continue to be, a privilege,” Marshall added.

“Thank you to Club Captain, Simon Hibbins, and the Metropolitan Board for your trust in me. I am thrilled and honoured to have this opportunity, and sincerely look forward to the next chapter.”

A Distinguished Career in Australian Golf

Marshall brings an extraordinary depth of commercial, high-performance, and community golf experience to the General Manager position:

  • Executive Leadership: She previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Golf Victoria, where she managed operations for 345 clubs and 35,000 members, pioneered the groundbreaking Women’s Golf Network, and sat on the Victorian Institute of Sport Golf Program Management Team.
  • Junior Development: Marshall was the Co-Founder and Organisation Manager of the Stuart Appleby Junior Golf Foundation, scaling the start-up non-profit to over 6,500 members.
  • Commercial Expertise: She is a co-business owner and Director of Yarra Bend Golf, one of Melbourne’s premier public golf and driving range facilities. Her background also includes structural event coordination with GOLFSelect.
  • Community Advocacy: Beyond golf, Marshall is an advocate for special education, having served as Vice President of the School Council for Ashwood Specialist School, where she helped secure a multi-million-dollar Victorian Capital Works Grant to upgrade senior facilities and sports grounds.
