Western Union Business Solutions has been announced as the Official Foreign Exchange Partner of the PGA of Australia and an Official Partner of the Australian PGA Championship.

As one of the world’s leading providers of cross-border business payments, Western Union Business Solutions is transforming how businesses can expand their global reach through one of the largest and most diverse payment networks in the world.

Reaching more than 100,000 accounts worldwide, Western Union Business Solutions moved more than $80 billion in principal for their consumers in 2015; completing an average of 30 transactions each second.

Chief Executive Officer for the PGA, Brian Thorburn, is thrilled to see the PGA partner with a reputable multi-national company like Western Union Business Solutions; commitment and investment that greatly supports the PGA and its flagship tournament, the Australian PGA Championship.

“We’re delighted to have a renowned global brand like Western Union Business Solutions supporting the PGA as we continue to advance and create more value for our Association, our consumers and the Australian golf industry.”

“Western Union Business Solutions is a business centred on the needs of its customers. The PGA is centred on supporting the needs of our PGA Professionals, our fans and our industry, so partnering with Western Union Business Solutions was a natural fit for us as we continue to expand.”

As part of the sponsorship agreement, Western Union Business Solutions will receive corporate hospitality and money-can’t-buy golfing experiences at this year’s Australian PGA Championship. A digital marketing campaign, with offers for PGA Professionals, will also be implemented as part of the sponsorship agreement.

Western Union Business Solutions is a division of the Western Union Company, a pioneer in moving money around the world, connecting individuals globally for over 165 years.

This is the fifth significant sponsorship announcement for the PGA in 2016, after Qantas Airways and Cobra Puma Golf were announced as new corporate partners and Liberty International Underwriters and Soniq increased their investment.

The Australian PGA Championship will be played at RACV Royal Pines Resort from 1-4 December and will be co-sanctioned by the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia and European Tour for the second consecutive year. The Event is a component of the Festival of Golf which includes the Cobra Puma Orange Crush Kids Day, Greg Norman Medal Dinner and the Soniq Million Dollar Hole.

The Queensland Government through Tourism and Events Queensland as well as the City of Gold Coast and Gold Coast Tourism proudly supports the Australian PGA Championship.
