PGA IGI’s golf management qualifications are only a click away

POSTED ON September 30, 2017 @ 3:54 pm

Since introducing its new e-learning study format for the Diploma of Golf Management in March this year, the PGA International Golf Institute (PGA IGI) has seen a new breed of student begin study of its golf management qualifications.

The PGA IGI delivers Australia’s only Diploma of Golf Management qualification. The 10459NAT Diploma of Golf Management has been the platform for individuals who are looking to begin their career in the golf industry, or to further develop their skills to take the next step in their career in golf.

With the e-learning format that is now in full swing for students across Australia, it has allowed students who couldn’t study through on campus learning at the Gold Coast the chance to gain their desired qualification in golf management.

“By introducing the new e-learning format, we have a wide range of students from across Australia now studying with the PGA IGI”, explains PGA IGI Senior Manager, Christine Straw. “We have had students commence from Perth, up to North Queensland and Darwin, all the way down to Victoria.”

“We are proud to see the diversity of students studying the qualification through e-learning also”, continued Straw. “There are students studying to gain an industry based qualification to begin their careers in golf alongside industry members and PGA Professionals who are looking to further their career progression.”

The Diploma of Golf Management (E-Learning) focuses on the business, management and operations for the golf industry. It is a study program for individuals looking to broaden and further enhance their knowledge of all areas of golf. The qualification will look in to areas of the golf industry such as golf shop operations, running tournaments and events, food and beverage operations, golf club management and much more.

The introduction of the Diploma of Golf Management through e-learning compliments the PGA IGI’s other online learning program, the Advanced Club Management Program.

The Advanced Club Management Program (incorporating BSB61015 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management) looks specifically in to the skills set and knowledge required by managers within the golf and club industry today.

The program looks at areas a manager uses each day in the workplace in regards to planning (strategic plan, business plan, marketing plan), financial management, organisational compliance, risk management, employee relations and more. It is ideal for General Managers looking to quantify their skills set, or those in middle to senior management roles looking to enhance their knowledge for further career progression.

The PGA IGI’s e-learning programs offer flexibility for students. This allows you to study at times that best suit you, around work, family and life requirements.

All program learning is undertaken online with no requirements of attending any on campus learning with PGA IGI. Students receive access to the Fairway, the PGA IGI’s online learning platform. The Fairway provides students access to all training and education modules, with additional student support provided via PGA IGI professional trainers, webinars and online forums.

Flexible intake dates are available for students looking to commence in our e-learning programs, allowing new students to begin study at a time that best suits their needs.

Intakes dates each year for the PGA IGI’s e-learning programs are:

  • Monthly intakes
  • February to December

Program prospectus and application forms are available online at the PGA IGI Website
