Promising future ahead for Corowa Golf Club
Corowa Golf Club Board and Management are hoping to gain community support for a 60 seat luxury cinema to be built in the clubhouse.
Club officials have been working tirelessly over the last ten months to develop a cinema proposal and are hoping for financial support from Federation Council’s Stronger Regions Fund.
Corowa Golf Club Operations Manager Daniel Peacock and Golf Club President Malcolm McLean said the group was excited to announce the proposal.
“This venture has not been taken lightly and there has been a lot of work done by our hard working board and management to turn our idea into a proposal,” Mr McLean said.
“Our board and management identify the need to versify our income streams outside our golf parameters.
“While we realise that golf is our main purpose we are looking to diversify our venue for the whole community’s benefit.”
Mr Peacock said the addition of the cinema would make the current club more than just a golf club and enhance the current facilities for the whole community to further engage with and utilise.
“The proposed cinema’s location within the club is going to maximise unutilised space all while taking into consideration the current users of our facilities.
“We want to be a golf club that’s not only for our golfing members but a golf club that is also for the overall benefit of our community.”
Mr Peacock said the club was looking forward to exciting times ahead both on the golf course and inside the club house.
