Rezoning plans at Killara GC upsets neighbouring residents
A rezoning proposal by Killara Golf Club on Sydney’s north shore is upsetting neighbouring residents in Buckingham Road, as it could pave way for land to be potentially sold to developers.
The tender, about to be put forward to Ku-ring-gai Council, could see the currently zoned low density residential site become high density, to some of the homeowners despair.
“We will do what we can to stop it, but at the end of the day I’m not sure how much weight our views carry,” resident Sharon Hughes said. “They have consulted us to a degree but I think it’s just a token, they don’t really care what we think,”
The club confirmed in a note sent to members that a town planner and urban designer had been engaged by the club.
Killara Golf Club president Rod Read said the club would not be able to fully comment until the process of the application was finalised.
