Royal Wellington Golf Club at Heretaunga has appointed Kurt Greve as its inaugural Chief Executive.

Royal Wellington Captain Andrew Harcourt says there was an international search for the position and the club was fortunate to have attracted someone of Mr Greve’s experience and expertise.

“Kurt brings a wide range of golf management expertise to his role with us and his relationships with golf organizations and clubs in the United States, the Caribbean and Asia will be of considerable benefit to Royal Wellington.

“Kurt is a PGA of America Master Professional and a member of the Club Managers Association of America. He is currently based in Bangkok, Thailand, and has managed clubs in the United States, the Caribbean and Asia.”

In 2011, Mr Greve was working at Singapore Island Country Club when it hosted the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship. “Royal Wellington has been chosen to host next year’s tournament and Kurt’s experience will be a real asset to making this showcase event a success.”

Mr Greve will take up his appointment in November.

“We very much look forward to welcoming Kurt and his family to Royal Wellington,” says Mr Harcourt.

About Kurt Greve

Kurt has PGA of America qualifications in golf operations, general management, instruction and executive management. His previous roles with clubs in the United States include positions as a teaching professional, General Manager and Director of Golf. Kurt has also held management positions in golf or hospitality in the Caribbean, The Bahamas, Singapore, Vietnam, and China. He is a PGA of America Master Professional and a member of the Club Managers Association of America.

Kurt has networks into international clubs and golf organisations in the US and Asia which he will be able to draw on in his new role with Royal Wellington.
