SEEKING: Assistant Professional – Kooyonga Golf Club (SA)
Located on the Adelaide sand belt and established in 1923, the Kooyonga Golf Club is recognised internationally as one of Australia’s leading championship courses and private golf clubs having hosted five Australian Opens, nine South Australian Opens and many other State and National golf events.
With a healthy level of membership, immaculately presented championship golf course and enviable reciprocal arrangements, the Club has maintained its proud tradition and heritage whilst responding to the changing needs of its members.
The Club resumed control and management of the golf shop operations in mid-2015 and has continued to expand its product range and services over the last 18 months.
The Club now seeks to engage a suitably qualified Assistant Professional to primarily support the growth in tuition services at the Club in our new golf academy featuring TrackMan, SAM PuttLab, BodiTrak, two bays with high speed cameras, video analysis and a simulator in the indoor/outdoor bay.
The Club has excellent practice facilities located in close proximity to the clubhouse, golf academy and first tee. There is a full sized practice fairway comprising of a 50 metre wide tee, a 70 metre wide fairway and the range is 275 metres in length with four real-life target greens at various distances. There are three practice putting greens and a large pitching and chipping green.
Reporting directly to the Head Professional and indirectly to the Golf Operations Manager, responsibilities of this important role include:-
- Application of knowledge on golf, fitness and technology to enhance tuition services provided to members, guests and visitors
- Creation of lesson plans for both individual and group golf instruction
- Maintain fitting carts and teaching facilities to required presentation standards
- Provision of custom club fitting and repair services
- Assist with the day to day running of the golf shop & practice facilities
- Provision of outstanding services to members, guests and visitors
Applications are encouraged from certified members of the PGA of Australia with experience teaching in a similar golfing establishment and ideally advanced status in the coaching or game development streams.
Excellent communication skills complemented with strong attention to detail and experience using golf technology are essential qualities sought, as is the ability to deliver outstanding customer service.
The Club will negotiate casual/part-time employment in the Golf Shop with the successful candidate to supplement his/her tuition income.
