SEEKING: Assistant Venue Manager – Morack Public Golf Course & Driving Range

The Course:

Morack Public Golf Course is a picturesque 18 hole golf course and driving range with 20 undercover and outdoor bays. Our onsite golf shop has an extensive range of golf equipment and specialises in club fittings. Morack is managed by Golf Services Management (GSM).

GSM are leaders in the management of golf courses and run several courses around Victoria. GSM is a proven multi venue operator with established partner networks and skills across the golf, retail and business industries.

The Role:

This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified person or golf professional wishing to take that next step in their career.

In this role you will assist the Venue Manager with the day to day running of the course, range and shop. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the daily management of the golf shop operations;
  • Management of the facility in the absence of the Venue Manager;
  • Training and supervising of staff;
  • Contributing to a culture that delivers the highest standards of customer service;
  • Stock control and retail displays;
  • Motivating staff and ensuring targets are met;
  • Ensuring the shop is clean, orderly and well presented at all times
  • Administration and co-ordination of group bookings;
  • Maintaining and adhering to policies and procedures; and much more!

 
To be successful you will have:

  • A hands on approach and the ability to lead a team;
  • High customer service focus with the proven ability to and go above and beyond to assist customers;
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse range of people;
  • The ability to leading a small team dedicated to providing excellent customer services and visitor experiences at every opportunity;
  • Initiative and problem solving ability;
  • A high standard of personal presentation;
  • A confident manner and the ability to motivate others;
  • Hands on experience with Point of Sale (POS) systems; and
  • Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of the golfing industry will be highly regarded.

 
Availability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays is a must.
