SEEKING: Golf Manager – Avalon Golf Course

We are currently looking for a golf professional (perfect for a husband & wife team) to run Avalon Golf Club. Avalon GC is a Council owned 9 hole course situated on the beautiful Northern Beaches of Sydney and a great place to raise a family. You will have autonomy in rostering and delegating responsibility to staff.

The main focus is to collect green fees and market the course and the small bar and function centre to grow Food and Beverage income as well as green fees. You can also teach on the course and at the driving range close by to boost your income.

Overview of the opportunity:

• Pro -shop needs to be staffed by 1 person 7 days a week 7am – dusk.
• Small retail shop
• Promoting functions in clubhouse
• Collecting green fees
• Not many members so mostly public
• Marketing golf course and functions to local market
• Opportunity to give lesson & clinics on course

As part of this package we are offering a teaching position at Pittwater Golf Centre. PGC is a very busy driving range, mini golf & cafe and currently only has 2 full time teaching pros at the moment whereas in the past it has had 4 pros working so huge opportunity for someone to walk into golf lessons straight away. The Driving range offers 42 individual hitting bays including 6 undercover teaching bays. Additionally, we have a public grass hitting area and VIP area encompassing putting green, bunker, chipping green and grass hitting area. It is open 7 days a week from 8am – 9pm. So plenty of time to run Avalon and then teach at PGC while your partner or a casual employee work in the pro shop at Avalon.

You will need to be self-motivated with a track record of growing golf games through good marketing techniques and excellent service.

An attractive package with profit sharing will be offered. The Operator is open to reviewing employed or contracted options at the request of the preferred candidate.

On top of this you will receive a percentage of all teaching revenue you generate at PGC. We would expect you to be able to teach for at least 10 hours a week after an initial period of time to build up your lessons.
