SEEKING: Participation Officer – Golf NSW
An exciting opportunity exists in this new position for a passionate Participation Officer to join the Golf Department at Golf NSW. This role will liaise with affiliated Golf Clubs and Districts to implement and oversee Golf Participation and Game Development programs across NSW.
Working as part of the Golf Department, you will liaise closely with the Manager – Game Development to increase participation throughout the state across all age groups, in terms of both social play and Club membership.
To be considered for this position you will need to have a passion for golf, excellent communication and personal skills, be self-motivated, exceptionally well organised and have a positive can-do attitude.
The role will require the successful candidate to travel within NSW from time to time and to liaise with Golf Clubs and Districts and as such you must have strong time management and organisational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.
In house programs such as Tournament Software, a CRM Database and website content management system will all be used as part of this role. You must be highly competent with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and be able to quickly learn the internal software programs.
The role works extremely closely with the Golf NSW Golf Committee. Previous experience in dealing with Golf Clubs and Golf Committee’s would be an advantage.
About Golf NSW
Golf NSW is responsible for promoting, encouraging and advancing the game of golf at all levels throughout NSW. This is done partly through organising participation programs itself and from creating and marketing programs for its Districts and Clubs.
The Golf NSW offices are located in Arncliffe, and free parking is available. Standard office hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm, however some out of hours and weekend work is required.
Selection criteria – Essential
- Sound knowledge of the game of golf
- Understanding of the challenges to growing participation in golf
- Sound knowledge of Golf Australia’s national participation programs
- Demonstrated experience in organising, coordinating or marketing participation programs
- Sound Microsoft Office skills, and ability to learn internal programs
- Experience working with and managing volunteers
- Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workloads
- Outgoing and well spoken
- Current drivers license.
Selection criteria – Desirable
- Knowledge of the structure of Golf NSW Clubs and Districts
- Qualifications or experience in sports administration and game development.
Salary range is approximately $50-$60k (plus super).
