Yering Meadows Golf Club Unveils “We’re Back” Campaign with Major Bunker Renovation

POSTED ON August 25, 2025 @ 2:56 pm

Yering Meadows Golf Club has announced the launch of its “We’re Back” campaign, celebrating the completion of a significant bunker renovation project that marks a bold new chapter in the Club’s evolution.

Delivered in partnership with Clayton Golf and Kruse Golf, the project has reshaped the course’s strategic and visual identity. At the forefront of the transformation is Design Associate and Shaper Lukas Michel, whose international design experience has brought a modern perspective to the Yarra Valley landscape.

Michel, regarded as one of golf’s rising design talents, has worked alongside industry leaders Mike DeVries and Gil Hanse on high-profile U.S. renovations and the acclaimed Seven Mile Beach Golf Course in Hobart. His role as the youngest panellist on Golf Magazine’s World Top 100 Courses further reinforces his architectural insight.

The new bunkering at Yering Meadows departs from the traditional sand-flashed Melbourne Sandbelt style. Instead, it draws inspiration from early 20th-century American architect Seth Raynor, adapted to suit the Yarra Valley’s heavier soils. The result is a more practical, sustainable, and strategically engaging design.

Mike Clayton and Harley Kruse have brought their world-class expertise to this project, said Lucy Jiang, General Manager at Yering Meadows. “Their collaboration with Lukas has produced a course that is both visually striking and functionally enhanced, setting a new benchmark for Yering Meadows.”

The “We’re Back” campaign reflects more than just renewal—it signifies a reinvention. With a strengthened focus on course quality, member experience, and architectural excellence, Yering Meadows is positioned to reclaim its standing as one of Victoria’s premier golfing destinations.
