Forster Tuncurry Golf Club’s new golf facility & Golf Museum nears completion

POSTED ON August 10, 2021 @ 7:54 pm

The museum will be the only golf museum outside of a metropolitan area and will be a huge local attraction.

The delivery of memorabilia into the museum has been delayed by the current lockdown in Sydney, nonetheless, completion is expected by the end of the year.

President of the Forster Tuncurry Golf Club, Ivan Bradshaw say’s members can’t wait to use the facility

Late year opening

“It’s fantastic, we really want to get into the building, as it’s at the point where we’ve outgrown the old building.

“The new state of the art pro shop, bar and kitchen facilities, lounge area for members and outdoor barbeque will be real highlights for everyone visiting and using the new facilities. We’re very proud to have this on our doorstep and can’t wait for the official opening.”

It’s hoped the opening will take place towards the end of the year.

The works are funded by the NSW government and includes more than $800,000 worth of improvements to the golf course, which has been designed by former Australian golf professional, Craig Parry and is rated as one of the top 100 public golf courses in Australia.

The jewel in the crown

Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead says the new course and facilities will be a jewel in the crown of the Myall Lakes.

“The original course was designed by Australian golfers, Kel Nagle and Mike Cooper and has been recognised as a championship course for many years, but let down by the lack of facilities.

“That will change as the building work nears completion. The course is already rated as one of the best in the country and this work will no doubt attract state and national golfing events as well as boosting tourism in the region.”
