Aligning with the richest LPGA Tour event in the region, the 2024 Asian Golf Industry Federation (AGIF) Conference will be staged in the Malaysian capital.

Featuring a high-profile line-up of speakers, the Conference will take place on October 23-24 at the Sime Darby Convention Centre, within the grounds of the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC).

On the adjacent West Course at the KLGCC, the US$3 million Maybank Championship – headlined by Nelly KordaLydia KoAyaka FurueAtthaya Thitikul and Rose Zhang – will be held from October 24-27.

“Being presented with the opportunity to stage the Conference at the same venue and during the same week as one of the biggest professional golfing events on the Asian calendar was too good to pass up,” said Chris Gray, President of the AGIF.

He added: “Not only will the AGIF Conference provide outstanding networking opportunities for delegates, but also will offer the chance to watch the world’s finest female golfers in action on the course.

“We’re especially grateful to the Sime Darby Convention Centre and KLGCC for accommodating us. We look forward to welcoming a wide range of golf industry personnel from around the region for what promises to be a memorable week.”

Located less than 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur city centre, the Sime Darby Convention Centre is surrounded by greenery and accessible from five major highways.

Among the keynote speakers at the Conference will be Gray, Head of Sustainable Golf & Agronomy Asia-Pacific at The R&A, and Mark Donohue, Regional Manager for Southeast Asia at Rain Bird.

Following two successful years at the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Danang, the third edition of the largest annual gathering of the Asian golf industry’s movers and shakers had tentatively been scheduled to head to Vietnam’s capital city of Hanoi.

“Hanoi and Vietnam remain very much on our radar. We enjoyed the two years we were in Vietnam and we anticipate returning there with the Conference in the not too distant future,” said Gray.
