Windsor Income Protection and the Queensland Golf Foundation are delighted to announce a landmark hole-in-one partnership at the 2016 Isuzu Queensland Open to be played at The Brisbane Golf Club from 20 to 23 October.

The 15th hole of the championship has been marked as the $500,000 hole-in-one. The first player to have a hole-in-one on the 15th on Saturday or Sunday will be awarded $400,000 with a further $100,000 awarded to the Queensland Golf Foundation.

The hole-in-one sponsorship and partnership with the Isuzu Queensland Open is also part of Windsor Income Protection’s ongoing commitment to the development of golf in Queensland.

“We are proud to be a long-time supporter of the Isuzu Queensland Open. This event really does provide the opportunity for Australia’s next generation of golfers to gain the necessary experience and confidence to enter the global stage,” said Windsor Income Protection Chief Operating Officer Jason Potter-Rose.

“Our sponsorship of the $500,000 hole-in-one not only provides a chance to give a player the financial boost needed to achieve their dreams of furthering their golfing career but we are also excited that 20% of hole-in-one prize will go towards the Foundation and help encourage more young people take up golf and make it their game for life.”

The 265m par 4 will be a point of interest at this year’s Championship with players having to weigh up the risk and reward off the tee.

Professional Taylor Macdonald (pictured) will be at the Isuzu Queensland Open this year and is looking forward to taking on the hole-in-one.

“It’s definitely a hole that players will look to attack and hit the green with their tee shot,” Macdonald said.

“With the wind assisting, players will reach the hole with an iron from the tee.”

Large crowds are expected to converge to the 15th green on the weekend with dedicated seating, food and beverages available. In addition to the players, spectators will have a chance of winning a prize every time a player’s tee shot finishes on the green.

The Queensland Golf Foundation, the fundraising arm of Golf Queensland, works to increase the number of people playing golf in Queensland through implementing new programs and initiatives for children, women and in clubs. With the support of the Isuzu Queensland Open, the Qld Golf Foundation will be able to provide even more opportunity for people in Queensland to play our great game.

“If a player is successful a sum of $100,000 means we will be able to increase the number of MyGolf camps we offer to children. Currently, because of resourcing, we are only able to service certain places in Queensland. With this money, we will be able to give children in metropolitan, rural and regional areas the chance to attend camps and learn to play golf,” said Golf Queensland CEO Lindsay Ellis.

“We wish every player the best of luck when they come to play this hole during the weekend rounds. A hole-in-one on the 15th is a win-win for everyone!”

Entries for the Isuzu Queensland Open close Thursday 29th September 2016 at 5:00PM.
