City Golf Club Unveils Major Expansion Works Ahead of Centenary Celebrations
TOOWOOMBA – The historic City Golf Club is marking a monumental milestone this year with a major facelift, as construction teams push forward on two transformative development projects.
Work is progressing steadily on the club’s brand-new, purpose-built Pro Shop and an expansive extension of its Gaming Room. The upgrades come at a perfect time for the venue, which is officially celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2026.
Project managers confirmed today that crucial below-ground infrastructure has now been successfully locked in. Over the last few weeks, crews completed major foundational milestones, including the installation of dedicated hydrants, upgrades to electrical power grids, and extensive core air-conditioning systems.
With the complex utilities officially sorted, the project has entered its next visible phase. Structural works have broken through the surface, and walls are now beginning to rise above ground.
Club management stated that the dual developments are a core piece of their long-term commitment to improving the overall guest experience. By modernizing and expanding the club’s physical footprint, the project aims to dramatically enhance comfort, natural room-to-room flow, and day-to-day functionality.
First established in 1926, the City Golf Club has spent the last century growing into one of the region’s leading hubs for sport, dining, live entertainment, and premium accommodation. This latest multi-million-dollar investment ensures that as the club celebrates 100 years of bringing the local community together, it remains firmly geared toward the future.
