MiClub’s new membership module, a points-based Lifestyle Membership, is designed to give clubs more flexibility to attract and retain members who do not fit traditional memberships.

Leading golf management software developer MiClub recently launched Lifestyle Membership, an innovative membership module to give clubs the flexibility needed to adapt to today’s changing golf market.

With many players hesitant or unable to commit to the time or fee structures offered through traditional membership, the golf market is facing significant challenges. Clubs are under pressure to attract and retain members who may not fit standard memberships.

Lifestyle Membership is a new membership category within the MiClub Golf product. A new member in this category is provided with a specified number of points. Each time a Lifestyle Member books a tee time, points are deducted from the member’s account.

Tailored to membership needs

Clubs can utilise the module in many ways, as an addition or a replacement of existing membership categories. Clubs can easily create bundles to target different player groups, special offers, set expiry dates and more.

“Lifestyle Membership can be structured so the full member revenue categories are protected, with Lifestyle Membership generating new revenue from sources generally lost to the club,” said MiClub Managing Director, Peter Maddison.

Lifestyle Membership also provides an option for members who may find traditional membership fees financially difficult. Members who may not be ready to sign up for full membership can start a relationship with the club with a Lifestyle Membership, with an opportunity to convert at a later date.

MiClub Lifestyle Membership module fully administers point deductions, refunds and top ups automatically within MiClub Golf time sheets.

Lifestyle or points membership is already an established and successful membership strategy in the UK.

“Our market research has already shown us that Lifestyle Membership will be widely adopted. The feedback has been very positive with several clubs already pre-ordering. Lifestyle membership has the potential to have a significantly positive financial impact for Australian golf clubs,” Peter said.
