Hole 3 Takes Shape in North Adelaide Golf Course Redevelopment

POSTED ON July 31, 2026 @ 3:02 pm

The redevelopment of the North Adelaide Public Golf Course has reached a new milestone, with construction of the new third hole now nearing completion.

Work on the 3rd hole, the most advanced stage of the new 18-hole project, includes newly built sand traps designed to challenge both amateur and professional players.

Key Features of the 3rd Hole

Replacing a portion of the former 18th hole, the new 3rd hole features a shorter fairway guarded by steep, deep bunkers around the green.

Turf specialists have recently completed the shaping and topsoiling of the area, installed a green drainage network, and finalized drainage liners for the bunkers.

Redevelopment Scope and Goals

The project aims to establish a publicly owned championship golf course in the heart of the city, featuring:

  • An 18-hole championship course
  • Multiple tee block options for different skill levels
  • A driving range and practice facilities

Current work focuses on holes 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, where teams are installing turf, irrigation systems, and structures for fairways, bunkers, and tee blocks.

Impact on Local Golf

Once completed, the course is expected to support the growth of golf in the state by increasing participation among under-represented groups, including women and youth.
